On August 20, 2016, Post # 557 of Deerwood lost a good friend and fellow Legionnaire when Vern Wehage, age 61 of Crosby, died at his home.
Vern was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired Minnesota State Trooper with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Minnesota Airborne Law Enforcement Association, the Sno-Serpents Snowmobile Club, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby and served as the Chaplain of Post #557.
Vern is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joni, who along with Vern’s family, thank everyone for their help, thoughts and prayers, memorials and flowers.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby with full military honors being presented by Post #557. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
You will be greatly missed my friend.
